Ok Oppo. I am doing it.

I put in my deposit for the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! today. This means I will be cleaning up and selling off the GTO. I never thought I would sell Lilith, but I can always buy another one down the line. Plus with all the work I’ve done to her and the “low miles” She is still in her prime for the market.

But this also means I will be buying and Importing a TVR!!! I am so fucking ready to have a TVR in the states. I have all the pricing and such figured out. I have contact info for a company that has imported other TVRs. Unless there is an imported here that would like to help out. I’d rather go through another Oppo.

Due to the import rules (fuck you Mercedes ) I am looking at mostly the S Series,the Chimaera, and the Griffith. I would really really like the Griffith, but most are out of my price range. So I could get a V8 in the Chimaera or a V6 in the S Series. I have people looking for cars over there knowing that I need to sell mine first, but ears are to the ground including the guy the started the whole !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , Ben Coombs. He is an awesome guy and I got to meet him here when he was driving across the globe in his TVR. If you have the chance to go on one of his rallies or meet him at an event I would highly suggest it.

Where are you looking for TVRs? What’s your price range? Gave you joined one of the TVR Car Clubs for advice and assistance finding a suitable vehicle? (when looking at cars like these, always look at the fan/car clubswho can advise what to look for and what to watch out for, best places to look, well looked after vehicles, etc... ).

Same. I’ll need to pick up a really cheap beater to drive around in though. If you know anyone dumping a real cheap tdi or something I’d take it. Like $500-$1000 kind of cheap.

Is that Chimaera with the split lights old enough to import? Looks almost like a Tuscan, which I suddenly very much want. I oughtta re-watch Swordfish. I hope way more TVRs start making it stateside. Too bad they’re all RHD!

Yes 1994 and older are good to go. I very much want a Mk1 Tuscan S and a Sagaris. Actually that is untrue, there are LHD TVRs, but they are S series and older.

Get a TVR with the color-changing paint. Just do it. There’s no reason not to. It’s the most TVR thing possible.

Hell yes, such trips require wingmen. I need to make the pilgrimage to Newcomb’s Ranch, at least. Cold Springs Tavern off Highway 154 comes to mind as well, at least within easy striking distance. Start small.
